Okay, I have quite the unbelievable story here. It all started with the Tranny needing an overhaul in the Venture, oh about 5ish months ago now. Main diff. was all scored apprently from the other driver, considering I drove it hard, but not hard enough to do that damage in 20,000km. Gm (Royal Chev/Caddy) up where I live, said, they would overhaul it, for 2600.00 and be on my way, with a 1yr warrenty. So I went along, and did it. The mechanic said he might come in to finish it on a Saturday for us, so we called in Friday night, and the service manager, said "nope, noone comes in on Saturdays <click>"...well, he didn't even go and ask, and has no idea the mechanic was thinking. So we popped in saturday morning, while my dad was driving me to work. We enetered the building, and he started yelling? "I told you last night!" I was shocked, that someone is his postion was acting like this, and then we were told to get out, when my dad (surprisingly keeping his cool) tryed to just talk to him. So my dad told him, he would have to put him out, if we wanted him to leave. We continued talking, not getting anywhere, and leaving, not happy, wishing we could drive my van somewhere else..couldn't though, cause it was all apart. Anyways, we get the van back. Starts slipping the same day we got it back, same thing it was doing when i brought it in, just not as bad. So I called them, and was told to drive it, and it may clear up, fair enough so I did. Just got worse. I took it back 2-3times, each time told it was "ok" when me and my dad sat at another local dealer parking lot and watched, nobody even going to look at the van. One time we told them drive 20-30km and let it sit 30min, and retest, they said alright. I got it back 2.3km on it. I finally wrote GM canada, and they made royal take it in. They tore it apart, found scored valves in the valve body and said I needed a torque convertor, but they didn't fix that, so it's not warrenty. Another 1100.00 ontop of the 2600.00 I spent already (CDN). So I told them, it was my original problem, its like you're heart failing due to a clogged artery (sp) so they change you're heart, and leave the clog. He said he disagreed and woulda fixed it if he felt it was the problem at the time..um, I had it like 3months back, less then 5000 I put on it..and you're telling me they scored that quick? So I got it towed to Mr. Transmission. When it got over there, the motor was thrown in on the oil pan, intake coupler was broke, subframe was pushing out my bumper, missing valves from valve body, gaskets were all crumpled up like basically "screw you!". So he went through it for me, and we found 95% of the interal parts were factory line items. EVERYTHING was shot, clutches/bands everything. After a fresh Gm overhaul? So I paid 2600.00 for, 2 seals and 1 shaft? The guy at Mr T. Knowing what we went thru ate alot of the cost (3000.00 down to 2100.00). Thing shifts amazing now, he beefed up everygear put up line pressure in the EPC. Shifts amazing. (The guy at Gm said he put a shift kit in it...we found streeched springs!...what a winner)
Anyways I finally got van back...and I wanna get my money back from GM.... meh probally wont happen :P anyways, thats my story.
