    seat belt retractor

    seatbelt retractor spring rewiding

i was bored one day putting back the rod that attaches from the key lock to the latch on the drivers side door(the lil plastic clip came off)
and i noticed the seat belt wasnt retracting very well, it was annoying so i figured it was a good time to see if i can make it work better.. boy was i in for a surprise.

    look familliar ?
then you are indeed in need of this little write up.

the spring is wound in "backwards" to the way it wants to bend, and it is held tight against the outside of the cover.

after about 20 minutes, sore fingers and if you havnt accidently released the spring got mad and threw the whole thing into the ground then it should look like this....no i didnt get mad and throw it on the ground... ahh ok im lying

now once you got it all together your going to need to pull out the center of the spring carfully hold the coiled section of the spring in while you take your other hand and pull up on the spring a bit till you get it nice and strait, raised about half the width of the spring, or more.

next you simply slide the spring into the slotted part of the shaft and be carfull here... now your going to turn the whole thing clockwise 6 times, while managing to keep the cover with the spring in it flat as you can against the retractor

with any luck you should have a nice working seatbelt mechanism once again... next time dont remove the cover just to see whats in there

That EGR adapter plate looks familiar.... Kinda like the one I printed off and made from scratch just to piss the guy off.

Amount of lift a rocker arm ratio will give you
To figure out total lift, you'll need the lift of the cam at the lobe. Then, take that value and multiply it by the ratio of your rocker arms.
                (lobelift)*(rockerratio)=liftatvalve
                ie 0.440/1.5x1.6=.469
some manufactures include the rocker ratio with there said lift

                      4T60-E Tuning - DF Code

The two tables where adjustment would be applied are :

                      Tables > EST -Trans >

                      SPARK RETARD TIME 1-2 UPSHIFT

                      SPARK RETARD TIME 2-3 UPSHIFT

By setting all values in these tables to "00" hex for example, retard should no longer be applied during shifts.

                        X Citation, remember them

Actually, I do remember them! As a matter of fact, I own 2 Citation X-11's and a regular Citation (slowly being chopped into pieces). Marty (racerx11) also has some citations.
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
