Due to what might be an addition to the family, I've been looking for a 7 passenger vehicle. I don't want to go the minivan route, so I've been looking at SUVs, and yes, station wagons. I've found some, what I think are, good deals on Land Rover Discoveries in the 1999-2003 range. Anyone have any experiences with these, or heard anything about them, good or bad? If I can find a Trailblazer in the same price range, which seems impossible, I would consider that too. Right now it seems to be either the Range Rover or a Volvo wagon. I wouldn't mind a Caprice wagon, but the wife says no way. Any suggestions?

the ford freestyle looks good to me, and i think you can get it awd, but if your looking for used, but not a minivan, and it can hold 7... then your looking at a gas sucking suv. maybe you could get a base freestyle for not a whole lot. or a 99 or so expedition, but that would get like 20 on the highway.

I'd go for a volvo turbo wagon. I don't know why but I really like the old box volvos
I wish 10% of the people on the road knew how to drive

Wasn't even thinking of a yukon/tahoe, that's another one I can look at. No one's had any experience with the Range Rover though? I have a thing for British cars. I didn't think the Freestyle came with a third seat, going to have to look into that. There's a kid around here driving a Cutlass Cruiser like that, yellow with old school mags, dual exhaust, really done right, and I swear it is the coolest looking thing around.

Range Rover does rock. Not cheap at all. You will need Spanners and learn how to get in the "boot". (Then you have to buy "Petrol").

Dodge Magnum. Get a Hemi with it to so you can have some fun and haul the whole family around to. I think it will hold seven but i'm not sure. They start around 30k with the Hemi or if your really interested get the Srt-6 version coming out soon.

Not a real big fan of the magnum, and I don't think it comes with the third seat.

rovers: bitch to work on, and expensive to fix. unless you have a fat wallet, id stay away from them. i have worked on several at work, and nothing is simple, and they cost a small fortune to fix, and parts arent easily avalible.

volvo is ok but your still sorta in the smae boat. they arent cheap that cheap to fix.

vans: i re/re a lot of mini van trannys. id say the worst is the windstar followed by the caravan/voyager, however the dodges arent nearly as mush to fix as the ford. gm seems to be a bit better but we still see em often. id say the best bet for a van would be the dodge. as the tranny can be problematic, dodge still has the #1 selling minivan.
