  • You know you've been on the site too long when...

Ok, maybe its not just the site. Maybe its just being around cars and engines too long. Anyway, wife picked up a couple new additions to the family on Thursday...

So what do they have to do with engines and cars? The black one is Crank and the brown one is Cam. Ok, so I could just be a geek. We thought about changing the cat's name (who we just got ~2 weeks ago) to Piston, but thought that might be alittle too far.

Anyway, they are sisters and they are Lab/Pit Bull mixes. Should lead to some interesting and big dogs. I just need to get to training them right away so that they are well behaved around our daughter (and maybe future kid).

      RE: You know you

awww they're beautiful, now the kitten has someone to play with.
as long as they are used to kids from the begining they should be fine, labs and pits are actually know to be good with kids. it's just when you train them to be killers is when you have the problem.

          RE: You know you

The kitten has something to play with... if you only knew. All night last night he would run up and swap at the dogs for no reason! I think he's getting more used to them now, but it might be interesting in a couple weeks when the pups are getting bigger and the cat gets declawed...

I'll be sure to keep this thread updated to see if Crank maintains the larger size or if she's gonna screw me and have Cam outgrow her.

Yeah, I originally tried to convince the wife to name twin boys that if we had them, but that was a short conversation. When I mentioned it lastnight for the dogs and she agreed right away, I was kind of blown away to say the least!

Hopefully you don't snap your crank in half and decide to do a regrind on cam. haha

hahah. I know if they get in a fight, crank and cam will slap the piston around.

RE: Re: RE: You know you

Well, looks like we won't get to see these guys grow up. After my inlaws came up this weekend and consistantly talked about how the dogs would maul our daughter if we kept them (because pitbulls are people killers remember), and the fact that my wife didn't realize just how big they were going to get (she figured ~20 lbs), it looks like we are getting rid of them. My inlaws want us to just take them to the Humane Society and get them killed, but I refuse to do that. So I think the wife is planning on putting an ad in the paper. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I'm sure some arrangements can be made. They are free to a good home, and they are able to be split up if need be (although I'd love to see them kept together).

Your inlaws have the potential to maul your daughter..better put them down. That sucks, hopefully they will find a good home.

Yeah, I know these things... I was trying to convinve her to keep at least one of them, but she doesn't think she'll be able to handle such a big dog. We'll see...
