I vacuumed my a/c system for 4 hours and charged it with 3 cans of 134a and one small can of dye. Nice cold air... NOT... at least not for long...
about a week and the air is warm again. I have the uv glasses and the flashlight, and I had been looking for a leak to no avail... Compressor is dry, accumulator...dry, condensor...dry... all connections, including where I put the new orfice tube...dry (oh I left something out, I took two compressors and did a compressor overhaul, plus a new accumulator.)
So tonight I pulled the passenger side lower dash cover, and I see a line of red dye right at the lowest point of the cover... (sinking feeling)
It seems like my evaporator core has taken a dump... Can I get this out without removing the whole dashboard (doesn't seem like it) and if I have to wouldn't it be smart to change the heater core at the same time, just for preventative maintainence?
