  • I love my nissan.

    '84 Nissan 720 4x4, 2.4L/5spd.

Drove it 200 miles yesterday with a load of furniture in the back. Kept acting like it was running out of gas when I was running it hard up the mountain. Plenty of gas in the tank. Got to Balsam (3500') and it puked a bit of coolant while I was at a rest stop. By the time I got here, it'd barely move itself along at speed. This morning I struggled to get it to the parts store, bought a fuel filter and installed it in the parking lot.

Silly thing gets clogged up from just the slightest amount of crud. Never had such problems with the Scumbird.

Still, I wuv my widdle nizzan.

      RE: I love my nissan.

my wife just traded her toyota for a nissan armada, and that truck kicks ass, plenty power and enough room for the kids. I also had a nissan altima that I slammed into a tree. that was one of my more favorite cars I owned, along with the datsun I totaled, that should count as a nissan. I loved all the nissans I've driven, they make good cars.
I wish 10% of the people on the road knew how to drive

I'd like to have a 70's datsun z car(a 5 speed 280 witha big cam, header and tripple webbers, and 240 bumpers) one of the few cars I like in white
                a 2 door 510 with a sc3.4 would own as well

Recent aquisition. It belonged to my mom, but she replaced it with a 2000 S10. She gave me the Nissan since I kept it running for her the past few years.

Yes, yes it is. "Z24" is the engine code for the 2.4L SOHC used in the 720s, and I think some of the early hardbodies (Z24i, fuel injected). Not sure if it was used in any passenger car applications.

The version I have (w/ Hitachi carburetor) pumps out a tire smoking 103hp and something like 134 ftlbs. Pretty weak for a 4x4 truck. Won't even make it up the driveway at my old apartment unless I use low range.

That's not so bad...my Rodeo is rated at 110 hp, I really have to do something about that!
