1990 TURBO GRAND PRIX

Hey yall check out my TGP I just bought today..............The engine runs it just needs a ECM and the turbo charger is gone. Can i use my T3 turbo on it??? Ive got a rebuild kit for the T3. The ecm doesnt work/isnt there, is it possible to get one out of a normal grand prix and just get a modified chip???? Thanks alot guys

i belive the tgp ecm is special for the tgp, and so is the chip. i beleive that it was only used in the tgp.

yes you can use a t3 turbo, it will likley be a bit better for that thing as the stock t25 was a bit small for it.

You believe wrong. There is nothing special about the TGP ECM...it was just a regular 1227727 ECM, common with the normally aspirated 3.1, and many other cars. Just get a normal 3.1 GP ECM and either buy a TGP memcal, or have the 3.1 memcal programmed with the TGP code.

I bought the ECM yesterday and installed it but its missing on one cylinder, probaly because it hasnt been ran in 2years. Im just gonna pt new spark plugs in it and new plug wires see if it helps. We pulled the turbocharger off last night the turbine on the exaust side is gone and there was a screw in the oil inlet tube( i think the screw was when someone blew up the turbo so they could get it home without the oil blowing out). Im perty sure were gonna fix the engine, put a paint job on it, and redew the interior and sell it.
