  • BIGASS LOAD!

Short road trip today. Came upon this. This guy was escorted by 6 Ohio Hiway Patrols. (3 in front and 3 in back) Had 2 escort trucks measuring overheads about 10 miles in front. So tall, he had to get off at every exit and get back on. Looked to be about 18' tall. So wide, as you can see, he is on the shoulder and across my lane! Maybe 20' wide. Speed was 25 MPH. Truck has 20 axles on trailer alone! Plus 3 drive axles and 2 steering tires. 94 tires in all. (I'd like to have the money/mile he is making.) Permits must have cost a ton! Don't know what it is, but it damn sure ain't a load of onions.

Looks like the core to a decomissioned nuclear reactor to me. You probably got the equivalent of 30,000 chest xrays when you went by it.

Maybe an injection molding machine?Thats the same type of trailer they used to bring in several of our machines.

It is about the size of my new Beer Cooler! I'm thinking some massive power transformer. (Not the cartoon kind.) Going by axle weight limits, I figure at 36,000 lbs per 2 axle set = 180 tons.

We deal with Hi Tech on a common basis. Got some good tools and a couple of pain in the asses from them. Although we deal with the Tenn. shop more often.

Ahh did you ever meet that one guy, at least 70 years old that drives for them? He is a hoot! To date he is the only driver to ever back into this one crane bay in one shot. We all thought it was fucking amazing.
