Q is totally right. That is why I just laughed at counter boy. (See first post.) I've learned that explaining it to somebody in that position is just not worth the time for at least two reasons. One is he's probably completely ignorant of any basic science, so no level of technical explanation is going to be understood and accepted. Second is he's probably on commission selling the shit, so even if he knows it's shit, he's not going to admit it, especially with 5 other customers standing around.
