so i was unlucky again, got the 5spd, but it has the PM3. the brake light on the cluster is on. and the pump is cycling while i have my foot on the pedal, which it isn't supposed to do i hear. what do you guys think it is? pressure switch, accumulator, etc.? or do i need a whole new unit?

I had the same thing in the TGP. $240 for an accumulator fixed it. Motor cycles about every 4-5 brake applications.

I heard changing out the PMIII is a bitch. Dont know if there would be room for the vacuum booster. The TGP doesnt have alot of room because of where the turbo piping is.

I didnt know they put the P.O.S. PMIII in the 91 GTP's. The system works good when it works but will cost you out the ass to get fixed.

Dont ya just love those obsolete systems!

GM is having a field day with their prices.

There is a place called "Prior" that does rebuilds of the PMIII unit from what I have heard. Costs about a bunch ($700??) but the GM unit is over $4200.

check it out. I havent dealt with them but have heard many guys on the TGP forum that have.

anyone know how to determine if it is the accumulator that is bad, or the pressure switch that is bad on the PM3?
