thats gross, kids in school driving beamers, and bently's... my school lot was full of $1000 mustangs, camaros, s-10s, rangers, a few full size trucks and a ton of small cars. one girl had a 944 convertable. we made of fun of daddy's girl.

Even here at WCU, there's not MUCH in the way of fancy schmancies like that.

One guy has a Defender 90, and there's some "nice" cars, but nothing on that scale.

We had some Defender 90s as well as some BMW SUVs at KSU. In high school, we had a girl with a convertible 325i and another with an early 80s Vette. Of course, when I was in high school, the expensive vehicles weren't the "in" thing yet...

I live close to my old high school, and things have changed. I think the nicest car on the lot was an '89 mustang (in '91). Now i see brand new RSX's, Mini's, an H2, RX8's and the such. What ever happened to getting a job at the local grocery and buying your OWN car? My kids certainly will have to.

About the nicest cars we had at my school were grand prix's, intrigues, accords, and the occasional mustang. I'm pretty sure its the same way still, as my hometown community is fairly poor.

yeah i bought my cavalier in a sickly unreliable state for $800 when i was 15, and 3 days before i got temps to drive it the headgaskets went. so my minimum wage ass had to bum rides so i could work for cash to pay for every part that i needed to fix it so i could drive. the most help i got carwise, if you call it help, was i won $1000 in a bet with my own dad to put down on the T/A.

Yeah, I can remember the looks I got when I pulled into the lot with my 78 fairmont, and then I remember the looks I got when I blew their doors off at the traffic light!

Speaking of cars driven by 16 year olds...

I really should get my old Caprice going again. I loved hearing that 327 scream.
