We brought home a miata today. 2004, 27Kmi. base model. I never thought much of the car since i've seen go-karts about the same size, but i guess if you put 100+hp into a large go-kart it is bound to be fun. Moms all excited because i guess dad said she can have one if its $8000 or less. i dont think this qualifies but since it has a factory warranty still, and dads not really that bright...

Anyways, the car was suprisingly fun, you feel sort of claustraphobic first, but once you get everything adjusted, it feels like a small fighter plane. the handling was awesome, and the steering was more thought controled than a physical thing. just turning the wheel a few degrees, literaly, was enough for about anything except intersections. Lacking in the get up and go dept, but mom doesnt need zoom zoom zoom. i was suprized to see 3000rpm at 60mph cruise.

It was fun, would be more so with boost.

those little cars are fun to drive. I had a old alfa romeo spider and that car was a blast. I could'nt get it past 70 mph, but it cut thru lanes and made u turns like it was nothing. what color? and lets see some pics.

For 04 they were turbo charged in the Mazdaspeed version. I have seen them run mid 14's stock. Its a fun car for the money.

it went back before i could get pictures, the dealer was willing to let us keep it for a few hours to see if mom really liked it and what dad thought, it was black. really cool, but to the tune of 18K, and edmunds says it good for 16. it had some rash on thwe wheels a cigarete burn and looks like the tard who bought it new just couldnt get the lighter back into the socket, sort of scratched up the console in that area. i was impressed with it. reved like nothing else, tap the gas a and suddenly it was 5k

made me want to work on the old integra, with its 7000rpm 1.6 dohc 16 valve motor. all i need is rings bearings and headbolts to complete it. then because it has cancer, lots of sheet metal.
