  • Venture van may be no more!

Well, the Venture took a beating today thanks to a Beretta.
Wife driving the van by herself, waiting to turn left at a light, light turns yellow, first guy on the other side of the intersection stops, so my wife figures she's good to go, and the Beretta come up the other lane and tries to run the yellow.
This what 60 km/h or so looks like when it hits a barely moving mini van.
The van got hit on the passenger front corner, and the whole thing twisted so much, the drivers side door is just higher than the roof now!

Ouch! Hopefully she is ok?! Damn that sucks... Just one more reason not to tangle with a Beretta!

Well, I'm sure it'll be totalled. If so, grab the engine! Just what you need... a 3400 sitting around asking for attention.

yep, everyone's good now. Wife is a little bruised up, and got some seatbelt rash, but that's it.
Funny thing though. Airbags never went off.
We bought the van a year ago used. Makes me wonder if there's even air bags in it, or if its been crashed before. It was definately hard enough to set them off.

the frontal impact sensor probably wasn't set off. If they did deploy it might have done more harm than good.

If the car does power up, and you don't mind you could always whack the sensor and see what happens

Haha, a friend tested the airbags at the JY... Just be prepared for something about as loud as a gunshot.

it would be totaled for sure if the bags fired, dad wrecked an escort and the bags went of, he said it was like $1500 to replace them. looks like it took the hit well, like its made too, thats why everyone is o.k.
