Smoking?

Anyone here ever try and quit smoking? Seriously, its been like 18 hours since my last cigarette and I'm about ready to kill someone. And its all the girlfreinds fault, she wants me to quit. But its ok, I was planning on stopping one of these years anyway.

come to MN, you might as well quit, you cant smoke inside anyplace any more. course that doesnt matter now that its getting warm out.

Its the same here, only a few bars and bowling alleys will still let you smoke. But all the resturants and everything else is smoke free. We cant even smoke on company property where I work, if you want one, you either got to go across the street, or to teh other side of the fence. Either way, by the time you get to a "safe place" you got maybe a minute and a half to suck that thing down before its time to start walking back.

Besides, smokes are getting to expensive anyway, I used to smoke Lucky Strike non filters, but they're 4.33 a pack now, which is expensive for here, this area is a big tobacco producer, though not as much as when I used to help in the fields when I was like 5 (like 15 years ago)

I quit after smoking a pack a day for 10 years. I used the patch for the first 2 weeks then switched to the gum and that was pretty much it. I wanted to quit so it was easier than the hundred of times I "quit" before. I also drank a lot of OJ to help clean me out. Good luck. I too started on lucky strikes non filters. my friends would give me shit about smoking an "old man cigarette", but I was like "ya they're toasted."

I gave up smoking in high school.. I had started back in elementary school.. it was a bitch to do.. still 5 years later I get the occational craving.. it really sucks.. :S

I've been smoke free for 10 months now, cold turkey, I love it. See the way I look at it, I became a smoker cold turkey, so I should be able to become an ex-smoker the same way. hehe

I have some hard core cravings though, especially now that I'm back in a building that I worked in for a very long time when I was smoking.

Smoke free, is great, I can't believe what I was missing, with the smells and tastes.

I dont know if this works, in fact, after i wrote it it would appear as though i am only more addicted..., but to "quit" i started smoking pipe tobacco and cigars, mixing it up with some chew... i haven't touched a cigarette in a year though... And i only smoke cigars at parties, so i consider myself not addicted. Try quitting some other substance that is smoked once your mentally addicted, that is supposedly not addicting...

here your not allowed to smoke in any public location, passed just last year. Which means, no smoking on the street, in the bar, in the bowling alley, anywhere. People on the street will walk up and yell at you if your smoking, needless to say this has resulted in alot of fights...

BC is considering that law. Which means people would only be able to smoke on their property. Good for me. Bad for smokers.

Seriously tho, i think every place should consider it. Going from a bar a week before the law, and then the week after the law... wow... it was so much nicer, imagine a bar that feels like a doctors office when you walk in. A doctors office with old bikers drinking jack daniels.

Well in every bar here smokers have to smoke is a seperate ventilated room or outside. This is a WCB regulation and is for the safety of the workers

I love it because every bar smells fine. But the shitty ones break this law and it still smells. However I try and stay out of thoes places.

I wish they would put a full ban here in Alberta. But it doesn't look like it's going to happen because our Premier is a smoker. Also a fucking counter-progressive redneck.

I say get it over with already, legalize marajuana and prostitution. Then ban cigarettes completely because they are so unhealthy.

All the good it did me anyway, the bitch wont even talk to me now, I got pissed, and went trough a whole pack of Marb Red 100s in the last 8 hours. But I am still gunna try and slow down, I do WANT to quit, but then at the same time, I dont. Oh well, tomorrow's a new day, we'll see what happens. My buddies will all get drunk beyond recocnition, they'll say "Mike, you got a big truck, lets go cruisin." We'll meet some girls, and I'll smoke some more. I'll have to say, this is prolly the only thing that I have not quit, ever. (Cept for school)
