How long does it normally take to get stuff from GM parts direct.com? I ordered a couple of items about a week ago and it says "in process" on one screen and "special order" on another. I only ordered an antenna and a belt, I think someone on this board said they don't ship very quickly I was just wondering what the "normal" time frame is.

The thing with GMPD is,they are just a dealership based out of NC. So if they don't have it in stock, it becomes a "special order". They have to order it from GM, in which case it'll most likely have to ship from MI to NC. Once they have it in NC, they have to process it and then ship it out to you. So, depending on where you are it, it may take a little longer. I've ordered stuff through my dealerships before and its take 3-7 days depending on the part. So, worst case, it'll take GMPD 7 days to get it, most likely a day to process and then 3-5 days to get to you. So 2 weeks is usually a good timeframe to expect stuff.-Brad-

I ordered a few parts from them a while back(none of which were "special order" as far as I can remember) and it took about 15 days for me to get the parts.

I think the special order parts come direct from whatever dealership has them. I ordered a fuel line last month that was special order, and it shipped direct to me from a dealership in TX.

Yeah, some stuff might come from another dealership, but I would assume that most of it comes from large warehouses. They make a bunch of the stuff in Canada I believe.
Just think of the amount of orders they get every day. Craziness.1995 Grand Am GT
