He's a bitch. But what was that one guy talking about German Castrol Syntec being "real" synthetic?

That wasn't so bad. Sounds like he expects his engine to last 300,000 miles and not have to do anything to it.

That's funny, They want to have a 90° engine... they must mean the one that's in it's last year of production right now, right?

On that Synthetic note, there are a few different methods of making synthetics, in the US, only Mobil 1 is the true synthetic. I have the info on it somewhere, but i'd have to search for it.

Obviously OHV is crap because the imports don't use it.
that is ignorance at its best.

so 4 pages of that drabble and he never really specifiys what is wrong with his 3400, other then its "blowing hoses" and the "injectors suck"

LOL, I love the parts about "Get a 2.4, more reliable" SAY WHAT?!

Also I didn't realize that "Hoses blowing" were because they were attached to a specific engine, you know, if it was a 3 cyl, those same hoses would never blow. Same goes for the fuel pump...

I wish if people were going to bash something, keep it to that specific thing, like the fuel pump in that thread, again. that same fuel pump wouldn't go if t was attached to a V8, right? Als do some research and come up with VALID reasons why something is such a "POS".

No, shit. Honestly what is one thing on these cars that doesn't preform up to domestic manufactured standards. Sure their are couple recalled items, but you can't complain too much if it is a one-time free repair. Import cars have always been over-head cam. Just like domestics being primarily pushrod.

You use what you know best, right? I admit that GM has some deliberate engineering deficentcies, but none on on the 60 degree line that I noticed. Any real obvious problems have been phased out over the years. I honestly thing it is a solid engine.

My conclusion is that this guy should go out and buy a early 90's Toyota Corolla base model, with no accessories what so ever. Then maybe he will be happy with the maintenance issues.
