Yeah like wolf says above, Illinois does. But I know a girl who has had a Dale Earnhardt plate on the front of her T/A for at least two years. Nothing has ever been said about it either.

In Wisconsin, if you are issued two, you are required to have them both on. I think you can request just one plate, though. Not sure, I havn't tried. I've had these plates for two years and they've been on 5 different cars, I don't plan on getting a new set for a while, since I cant aford a third vehicle, what with the new truck.1993 Lumina Z34 - Broke Yet Again

Front plates suck. I bought my car from Pa., there were no holes in the front bumper. I had to drill them. That sucked! Also, in my opinion, the only useful trait as far as law enforcement goes, is to get you at a camera red light. Maybe the cops are afraid they can't get close enough from behind to read a tag? My vote is a big-assed LAMER!And,...as earlier posted, Ohio will do away with the POS. Then, I get to fill the holes.
Oh well.....(Actually, the front plate makes no money here, only costs the taxpayer, me, over 2 mil. per year for the convicts to make them.)
If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.

Dont need them in AZ. But the cops are so bored here that if anthing happens you are guaranteed at least three squad cars. They also like giving BS tickets like "Wasting Finite Resources" for spining tires, $80 ticket.\'92 White Z34 - Custom Air Intake & Magnaflow Exhaust

I got a ticket for that once, at school. "Unneccesary Act with a Motor Vehicle" $100. BS part is no one actually saw me do it, it was just assumed, cause I was the only vehicle moving in the parking lot. Second hour rolls around, the school rent-a-cop calls me down and writes me this ticket, because supposedly the associate principal saw me do it, but from what I heard later is she was inside the building, heard the sound, and assumed it was me. She was right, but still, thats bullshit.1993 Lumina Z34 - Broke Yet Again

We don't need front plates in Georgia.

well for you lucky bastards who don't HAVE to have them on, good for you!
I'm not sure about most W-Bodys, but GP's front bumpers were absolutely NOT made for plates! I took mine off a couple weeks ago while stripping down all other sorts of stuff, and just left it off because i realized how much better the car looks without it!! It's a 92 with the B4U, and what a difference it makes without it. WOuldn't think it would be a big difference, but it is. And my town has cops that are bored as hell all the time as well. They all KNOW me by first name (not from any good first hand experiences)...and God this town's cops completely closed down a road because a DOG got run over! (Wasn't any special dog, i heard about it next day, just someone's dog)
And i'm still amazed i haven't gotten pulled over for it.

In California you know we have to have a law requiring front plates.
The 95 Monte Z34 just wasn't made to have them and I took the plate off.
I keep the plate in the trunk.
But since my Uncle is the commander of the police force here, I don't have too much problem with them. Except for the time I had 5 cars chasing me on my Yamaha 700 Genisis with a Vance and Hinze exhaust. I know, I was only 18 at the time.
One time I was speeding and the cop gave me a fixit ticket for the plate instead of a speeding ticket.95 MC Z34 Black

If it is a OEM option to delete, covering them in SD is illegal, if it came factory without hardware it is a fix-it ticket.
Basic SD law states that the plate has to be visable from the front, that doesn't mean it has to be on the bumber.
The worse you could get here is a fix-it (fix it the cheapest way), the least is a warning. With an OEM delete it is a 30.00 fine to cover a plate, this includes some dark colored plate protectors.
The only time you would not have to worry is if the car is a classic, or the car had no option for front plates.
When I lived in Iowa, there is no specific DOT law at the 'State Level' that requires a front plate, however cop can write up a fix it now or pay to have it fixed for 5 times more ticket, they also don't require follow-ups so just sign it and send it in just make sure you reasonably fixed the issue. This may have changed.
I got a ticket for it in Iowa back in the day, I just straped it to my grill.I am back

Ohio requires one but I've never been pulled for it. Oregon also requires the front plate but again I was never pulled (even when I had air in the fuel lines and the X-11 was bucking like a wild bronco and squeeling the tires in FRONT of a cop!!!)Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance

Ohio requires it, but in my neck of the woods, the cops don't care. They might tack it on if they pull you over for something else. Like my friend got a ticket for no front plate along with a no seatbelt ticket\"Must people buy hubcaps that look like wheels. But you wanted to be different, so you went and bought wheels that look like hubcaps?\"
