I have a portable CD player that I want to play through the car stereo with one of those fake tapes that plug into the hedphone jack. Problem is the tape player keeps spitting it out (Factory Delco Radio). I remember there was a way to make the tape player accept the "fake" tape. You have to press two buttons at once and hold or something any help would be accpreciated.

The head of the fake tape should also have an adjustment. You may have to play with that. Also sometimes you can adjust the tension of the spindles too.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

The Delco radios have a "Broken Tape Detection" function that automatically switches to the other tape direction and then spits the fake tape out if the little drive wheels are not turning in sync. My wife had a 1995 Pontiac GP with a better radio and I remember that you had to do something like press two buttons at once then the tape player "Broken Tape Detection" was turned off and I could use this same fake tape adapter.Boring Lumina is a White 4-Door with 191,000 miles on a 1995 3100 V6.
