Fuck, didnt see the "truck" part. Man you are way off if GM should dunk the Chevrolet Truck name. They should dunk GMC cause folks used to think GMCs were better built . At one time they did come with a little something extra but not today. They roll off the same line these days. We need a Chevy, Pontiac and Caddy.....

why do we need a luxury truck, arent trucks for work? never had an experiance with gmc, never owned a truck except for my ford joke-150. the gm trucks look the same, you cant take cheap away. even tho chevy does have like what? 12 models or so. gmc has too many gadgety features, like the retracting top, and 4ws, though cool, i personaly dont think they have that much of a place. its an overpriced line with more things that no-one needs and in five years that top will probably quit working.

i dont think either buik or pontiac will be canned, didnt they say that about olds awhile back? bush will probably try to make himself look good by granting X million of our tax dollars further away from social security and give it to gm to keep the lines for "job security" or something. since i dont get S.S., can i at least have a "thank you for all your money, sucker!" card?

Yeah my father just bought a GMC Envoy. Inside and out the Trailblazer looks like ass when you compare them, but that's something that could be fixed if you just keep the Chevy "cheap crap" interiors and fugly exterior design away.

I'd say get rid of the Chevy truck lineup
Wrong wrong wrong. Unless you lived a Major portion of your life in the 1950-1960s GMC really is an after thought as far as GM sales are concerned. Back then the brand was known as a tough, hauling dependable work truck! Today they only look at the marketing standpoint. Which means they should axe the GMC brand(like twenty years ago) and go with a high end, mainstream, and work(tough) truck to combat Fords claim to the best selling pickup.

Well, for one thing I can say that Quadrasteer is an AWESOME option. My mom has a 2002 GMC Sierra Denali and it's a very nice driving truck, handles well, good handling and traction (AWD), good acceleration (6.0L)

Why does everyone want to axe everything? Having different brands go after different segments means you can choose what you want based on what you need and like. I like GMC truck more than Chevy trucks because I like the styling better. I think Pontiacs cars look better than the Chevy equivalents.

                      I say keep em all

maybe its a canadian thing cause i agree with betterthanyou.

And yes there is a place for luxurious trucks. Such as my dad. Heavy equipment salesman. Has to go off-roading to get to most sites, yet he has to do business and try to sell $200,000 pieces of equipment inside of his vehicle, not to mention he puts over 50,000km on his vehicles a year, that would hurt in a shitty "work-truck". My dad would also be part of the 2% of (ex)SUV owners that actually need an SUV.

I think none should be axed... but if they were to be, i'd say buick... when was the last time you saw a standalone buick commercial? or can remember one...

Here, there are a ton of buick commercials actually. usually for the Lacrosse / Allure. Also for the Rendezvous.

                            my .02

axe the gmc trucks. they can get along with chevy trucks. pretty much the same thing, just have the option out there to get a fancey chevy truck. as for cars, i say axe buick. gm already has teir luxury line (caddy) and they realy dont need a cheaper luxury line. pontiac is keeping with thier routes, after all, pontiac did start the muscle car era, and the gto is showing it. as for saturn, it not gonna get axed. as i see it, saturn is owned by gm, but realy doent use a whole lot of gm (they use the ecotec engine, but thats about it) and is realy their own design. gm already sold Saab several weeks ago.

basicly, i see buick as a sub luxury car, and it realing falling into a place in the market that isnt there. if people want luxury, they go for a caddy. if they want class without paying caddy prices, they go with a loaded pontiac.

Unless you've got proof, I'm going to have to say NO they didn't. especially since they just released some info a couple weeks ago that GM is planning a new SUV for Saab in 2008.

SAAB is its Scandanavian division. It is actual GM. It is not like FIAT where GM just owns (or owned) a big chunk of it.

So I dont think they sold it. I also did not see any news about it on GM's site or gminsidenews.
