I like how they're trying to draw a "younger crowd" to Buick with those Led Zep comercials. Nothing against Led Zep, but come on! Are they trying to drop from the 60 year olds to the 50's? And Pontiac should bring out another car like the Aztek.

I dont see them getting rid of Buick just because its the only "american" car thats usually rated at the top of the quality charts. Of course I dont want to see them axe Pontiac either because that happened to be one car I truly liked. Aint talkin about no Aztec titanic either.

maybe it would have the opposite effect, since you wouldnt be able to get them anymore.

but since pontiac is probably more affordable than buick, i cant see pontiac getting canned. there are probably more pontiacs sold than buicks

Well I heard the G6 is a whopping POS and cant sell for beans. They shoulda kept the Grand Am .. GTO?! C'mon! I give that car another year before they can that one. I sure hope the Soltice can do somehting for them .. or else! .. I will be writing several angry letters at Mr. Bob Lutz if Pontiac goes away!

i'll be the first to say i won't miss pontiac. all their cars are becoming GP clones. they'll bring the firebird back as some other imported GM car. after the firebird went down(camaro, too) i haven't desired any pontiac after '02.

Plymouth is gone in Canada. I can see them canning Buick, too many divisions, not enough demand. Just think of the minivans, they've got like 6 different versions of the same thing. The Venture, Uplander, Montana, Montana SV6, Terraza and the Relay. I think they should have one GOOD van. Just think of how well the Sienna and Odyssey are selling. I'm just waiting for the Cadillac minivan.

The GTO is shaping up to be a real performer. It kicks the Old F-bodies ass so what can you complain about? Everyone say "Oh it looks plain". But I love the simple look and would rather have it than some way out there styling mistake.

Th G6 is selling like crazy. My dads work cannot keep them on the lot. And yea I have herd they suck right now. But every new car has teething pains.

The W bodies are still nice cars. The V8 option kicks ass and is just a teaster before they go RWD.

im hurt, i think my T/A looks super badass, thats why i opted for it over the camaro. my car was 28,550 sticker (in 1999). they took 1,000 off so i wouldnt go to the other dealer in the area. ls1, 6spd, hurst shifter, power lumbar... everything but ram air, the cd changer, and the convertible option.

By the way, nice T/A! Moms got a 2001 Fbird (red, convertible, V6, its my moms car, lol) I think it does look alot better than mid 90s (early 3rd gens) ..

I just heard on the news not to long ago the G6 was selling like doo-doo .. hmm .. but yes I do understand its a whole new car, and it will take some time. Its using a new engine, alot of new technology, and a new name, and people don't know a whole lot about it. Wasn't Oprah giving these cars away in hopes of sparking sales?

I do think the newer GTO model is looking a WHOLE lot better than the first one. But not everyone just will buy it "cause it will romp F-Bodys" .. the latest F-bodys looked a lot nicer than the first GTO .. I dont believe they shoulda "bought back" the Goat tho .. its just like Dodge bringin back the Charger .. in hopes of people reckonizing the names and all (?) .. they can keep it! This year will be rough for GM however, and I dont believe they would have intentionally put themselves in this spot, they must have high hopes in the future, as in a long term business plan.

Time will tell however ..
Also, people been telling me, "Jay, why do you wanna keep that 92 GTP? Its old, go buy something new" .. Im a GM guy, and the ONLY new car I would buy is the new Cadilliac CTS. All these new cars look like crap, and are all automatics .. We (GM) need RWD cars and a manual tranny ..

thanks, i love my car, but like you say, every car has its problems. right now mine has the "TSC OFF" "ABS INOP" "BRAKE" "SERVICE VEHICAL" and low coolant indicator lamps on. still runs and drives fine, i cant figure out why the coolant light is on i check it every day just to be safe, but the sensor was replaced once under warranty for being faulty, so its probably bad again. the abs light is intermittent, and the tcs light is my fault. i tried to put leds into the swicth since its light burned out. the brake a SV ight go off when the abs light does, so i know why those are on, i think the dead deer i passsed over messed up a few wires asscoiated with the abs.

but then the dealer also says i need a new pinion seal, PS pressure hose, and "blah blah blah, give us your money!" ...just change my damn oil.
