i can't believe it

today is a landmark day. this is the 1st time in my life that i have use an adjustable wrench to any success. i was removing an egr tube that was 23mm and i had a 22mm box in wrench the vise grips wouldn't fit.

i thought what if....nah it wouldn't work but i tried it anyway that wrench slid on perfect and i rushed to get a pipe on it be4 it changed it's mind.

i know i have had those wrenches that my dad gave to me(probably b/c he thought they suck too) at least 10 years every time i have been desperate enough to use them they have always let me down. i so didn't think it would work. the car gods have smiled upon me today.

I know exactly what you mean. But sometimes pipe fittings and stuff are between sizes, and that is all you can use without stripping the head. Plus, with those fittings the sizing is all depended which forgien country made it, their is no standard sizing. So, it beats carrying around 20 different wrenches. I found on the cooling system the bleed valves are a "between" size. It wasn't Imperial and not Metric. The adjustable worked just fine.

Precision adjustable wrenches work awsome. The ones that are all sloppy are what get you in trouble.

Since I'm a lefty I have a Left handed monkey wrench. It works so great for my southpaw. much better than regular ones.

Yeah occasoinally when your in a bind an adjustable wrench somehow comes to the rescue, However I do agree the cheap shit does more harm than good.

An adjustable wrench is one of those tools that you get what you pay for. A good Crescent wrench is only a couple of bucks more and it's a hell of alot beefier than a cheapo Wal-mart one.

Crescent is BY FAR the best brand. At work they buy us china! Nothing wrong with an adjustable wrench as long as its used for its intended purpose! Long live the "Crescent wrench" !!

i like crescent, s-k, proto, and snap-on. adjustable wrenches have a purpose, and it isnt automotive for the most part. great for home plumbing though.

It also has to be used the right way. Most people don't know that there is a certain way it is meant to be used. The arrow on the wrench is a hint! By the way, 5$ for a 10" Crescent is an excellent price.

i usually use them as a small hammer, i thougt thats all they were good for.
