Have to share this. Found it in a Water Filtering Maintenance Manual at work...BTW,...It is meant to be funny.
- Quality Assurance: Piping Specification-WAP 007
- 1.5.1 All pipe is to be made of a long hole, surrounded by metal, centered around the hole.
- 1.5.2 All pipe is to be hollow throughout the entire length.
- 1.5.3 All pipe is to be made of the very best quality, preferably tubular or pipular material.
- 1.5.4 All acid proof pipe is to be made of acid proof material.
- 1.5.5 The O.D. of all pipe must exceed the I.D. Otherwise the hole will be on the outside.
- 1.5.6 All pipe must be supplied with nothing in the hole, so that water, steam, or other stuff can be added at a later date.
- 1.5.7 All pipe is to be supplied without rust. This is always added at the jobsite.
- 1.5.8 All pipe is to be cleaned free of any covering, such as mud, tar, barnacles or any form of manure. This will cause lumps under the paint.
- 1.5.9 All pipe over 500 feet in length must have the words "Long Pipe", painted on both ends so that the fitter will know that this is a long pipe.
- 1.5.10 All pipe over 2 miles in length, must also have these words painted in the middle, so that the fitter will not have to walk the full length to find out that this is a long pipe.
- 1.5.11 All pipe over 6" in diameter must be labled "Large Pipe" so that the fitter will not use it as a small pipe.
- 1.5.12 All pipe fittings must be made of the same stuff as the pipe.
- 1.5.13 All pipe closures are to be open on one end.
- 1.5.14 No fittings are to be installed unless specified. If they are, staight pipe becomes crooked pipe.
