    hmm it seems the w41 suffers for N*itis after 100k throw it away. that kind of sucks the only decent DOHC powerplant gm has put out(going on the original post up to 97) that is reliable is the 3.4 dohc v6. the lt-5 doesn't count b/c if you have to hire lotus to do it, it isn't yours.

        GM worked on SEVERAL projects with Lotus. The LT5 engine was actually built on a small order run by Mercury Marine. The reason GM does not built them is it costs more to re tool an assembly line than it does to order in a small batch.

        But now they are building a new engine assembly plant where specialty engines will be made. So expect to see some interesting products in the future.
