  • Internet, yes, another rant :\

Has anyone else noticed how full of bullshit that internet searches are getting? It seems that if you search for something 1/4 or more of the links are total bullshit. They always link to other stupid search sites that are just spam and ads. Anyone else notice this?

Take a look at this. Do you ever see these type of sites?? I get them all the time.

I'm not really that mad, just annoyed. lol :P

Yeah, it really is getting annoying. I'm glad to read that some spammers and such are finally starting to get fined and such for what they are doing. But we are a LONG way from it going away.

And now someone's figured a way around Mozillas popup blocker. THAT pisses me off too.

Spy-bot search and destroy is a wonderful thing. It doesn't run by itself, you have to run it like once a week, but if you update it often, it works well. Wipes out all spyware. It's amazing when you think you only visit sites you trust, and you find this crap on your computer. There's no way to tell what sites it comes from (I hope this isn't one of them!) which sucks, but at least you can get rid of it.

I've never had a problem with ol' 660.com

For some reason I can avoid pretty much all spyware and viruses... I haven't had a single case of spyware of viruses on my computer since it was 'overhauld' last year. I guess the key is to start with wiping the HD, a fresh OS install, immunize the browsers and XP (with spy-bot), install SP2 (XP), turn on or install a firewall, install virus package, and update every chance you get. For me, so far it works great, never had a problem yet.
