  • Digital Cameras

Well, I think I've finally decided to update my digital camera. My Epson PC600 has served me well since 1998, but its time for something better.

After looking around some, I leaning towards the Fuji S5100 (Spec Sheet). Does anyone have any experience with this or Fuji in general? I've heard good things about them and also read several good reviews on the S5100.

Anyone else have any recommendations? I'm looking for a camera with a high optical zoom (the S5100 is 10x optical) and good resolution (at least 4 megapixels), but don't want to spend too much.[/url]

i want to get the S3100. I've had 2 fuji cameras before. one digital and a 25mm camera. No complaints from me.

Fuji is great I have the S7000 and I love it. It is very similar to the S5100 but the S5100 has way better optical zoom. If you do go with the Fuji I recommend getting some good rechargeable batteries cause it will eat up regular AA bateries quick. The rechargeables last about 10x longer

Check out my site take a look around many of the color photos were taken from my S7000

Kodak DX7590 is what I have. 5 megapixel and 10x zoom. Lots of features on it also. I like it so far.

Im a fan of the kodak chris told me to get a long time ago. 3.1 megapixel and um, enough zoom to take pictures of car parts from not too far away:P All I remember is 4800 in the model number:P I haven't tried out too many other cameras though.

I have an older Fuji I've done well with, and doesn't Chris have the S5000? It seemed like a nice one.

i am a kodak fan. i got a dx6490 a little over a year ago 10x optical 4mp, 4x digital i think and it comes with a rechargeable lithium battery(i think it is anyway kodak calls it the li ion battery). unless i take a whole lot of pics at once, i rarely have to recharge it. nothing but praise for the camera though.

as far as price i think it was 375-400 when i bought it. but i wanted to buy something nice enough to last so i won't have to get another one for a while. i think they are about 100 bucks cheaper now. i believe i saw one for $299 at walmart but their cameras are overpriced IMO.
