I guess I shall post this in off-topic, as I dont know where else to place it!

Well I have this 1994 Grand Am I bought SALVAGED. Front end damage done to passenger side by "hitting a telephone wire support". However, after replacing the fender and bumper and all, the AIR BAG light comes on, and stays on. I have come to think maybe a crash sensor is somewhat at fault.

Does anyone know how to replace/ test these? Unhook battery? Disconnect air bag from steering wheel?

The car has one air bag in steering wheel. I dont know how or why the light came on, but my budget cannot afford to mistakenly blow the air bag.

Is it possible a fuse or relay is causing these? There a cheap easy way to diagnose it?

Thanks for any info, as I never have worked on air bags.
