(changed) Strut Tower Brace

What function does the brace that goes from the fender to the radiator support serve? When I bought my car I didn't have it because the retards who owned it before me bought the wrong kind of battery and couldn't put it over the washer fluid bottle, so they lost it.

I have the passenger's side one, but not the driver's side one.

It is actually a support for both the front fender and the core support. I believe they are pretty much standard on almost all Uni-body designs. Kind of a neccessary "Pain In The Ass". There are custom strut tower braces that include this, made from billet aluminum. Looks awesome. Seen on on a Z28 IROC.

Not on N-bodies, and L-bodies.

I was just curious. I figured it was just for extra frame stiffening. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause any undesireable effects while I don't have one. I'm planning on finding one this weekend.

Also ordered a front STB from everyone's favourite place, RSM. Anyone who has one, how noticeable is the difference? Or experience from other cars?

It's to reinforce the tie bar from the engine pulling on it. It has nothing to do with handling characteristics.
