    RE: Re: RE: New Job

I'm currently on variable half-time salary. So, I get my normal salary for 40 hrs, plus I get a calculated half pay for any overtime I work. Not the bext, but better than just straight salary.

        RE: Re: RE: New Job

So much for a new and better job. The few months that I have been at this place made me see just how things are done in management. Today my supervisor wrote me up for a mistake I supposedly made on paperwork receiving a shipment. I looked at the paper she had in front of her, SHE signed it, SHE misplaced the packing slip, and SHE wrote me up for it. Seriously, no wonder this company has been through 60 some odd warehouse persons in the last 3 1/2 years she's been the logistics coordinator. Every mistake she makes, she blames on someone else, ALWAYS warehouse, and she gets away with it because she's a manager. I called her on it, she had nothing to say, so I said fuck it, I signed the paper. Went back to work, unloaded one more truck, told her I was going on break, and punched out. I went back out to my truck, made a phone call to the place I was going to be working part time at, my old job at the fertilizer company, told him I'll be in first thing in the morning, he said, OK, we need someone here full time for the spring, good to have ya back. Sure its less per hour, but when I was was making 8 bucks when I started last year, I was still bringing home bigger checks than I have from this other shit hole. Plus its work I enjoy, being outside, working in the fields, and in the shop. Not stuck in a warehouse for 12 hours where we're not even allowed to have the dock doors open, and the production lines for that plastic throw off a lot of heat, its always about 95 degrees, even in January, and it only gets hotter. Sorry for the long post, but I hope you will all understand.

I work in the vineyards of Napa Valley and I pretend to be a mechanic in my spare time.

I made my way up to Spray Manager of about 3000 acres.
We just got part of the old Mondavi ranches. Also Cuvaison, Clos pegase, BV, others

We manage vineyards for wineries and corporations.

I like and hate the job.

Too many hours: from May to Oct I will work from 60 to 70 hours a week. We spray at night then I do paperwork durning the day. Salary can suck. But I can take lunch whenever and I get 4 weeks paid vacation. Sick days count against vacation. I asked for 12k raise a year and the prez gave me 15k. I was like "F yeah." But now I am at work and I know I deserve it...

          Back to work orders............

I just want to cruize my car to the other side of the US.

im lucky, i have a great job. im a re-re technision at a transmission shop (i remove and install tranny's). im indoors, i make $14 (canadian) an hour, always work minimum of 40 hours/week and i get payed in cash for any overtime. i get 2 weeks payed hollidays as well as lunch bought for me every friday. i was very lucky to get this job (the old who ya know thing) as this is a career i was planning on going into.

i guess this job was to even out for a year and a half working full time graveyard shifts at a gas station.

We have a set amount of paid holidays that we get time off for. I also get like 4 paid sick days.
If they dock your pay after you miss 4, you're not on salary. Might wanna check out the regs for your specific area, but in general, if you lose money cause you didn't work 40 hours, you're not considered a salaried employee. As such, you'd be entitled to overtime

Happened to one of the trainers at a tech support job I used to have. She got almost $6k back after taxes cause they were doing that to her.
