Well, my "Trial Period" is over. I'm officially hired in at my new job. Went from $8 an hour to $11.43. Nice raise, especially for this area. The two highest paying jobs are GM (of course) and Simmons Mattress Factory. This is a liitle further down, but not much. Now I can do some more shit to my car.

I just got laid off for Raven a week ago, but get this they gave me reference and placed me in a new job that has me doing electrical wiring, post fabrication and finishing to Fire Trucks YES full fledged Fire Trucks, it is nice. Started at 11.50 an hour with open overtime!!!!, and weekends 50+ hours a week. I work for Rosenbauer America now.

I can't see people living off of less than 10$ an hour. I was going backwards at 9.40 an hour.

i get 10 bucks an hour to clean a factory, yes im a sanitizational technician, or janitor if you want to be a dick about it. Its a factory that makes bread and cookies and shit, they (the company) supply something like 80% of all the bread you buy, and tihs is one of the biggest factories. All i have to say is if you want to eat bread make it yourself, i dont know how many days i come home from that place with food poisoning... today being no exception i can't even stand straight... (no i dont eat anything there, the actual air itself is filled with food bacteria)

oh and just a tidbit of information.
The freezer chain, where the bread goes to be frozen before shipping, contains more bacteria than the mens urinal.

Umm, ick. Yea, where I work, we make the platic for all the major credit card companies. You know those fake cards they send in the mail, telling you that you're approved, we make those. I work in the warehouse for now, but hopefully soon I'll be in production, up to $20 an hour. That'd be nice. They'll even pay for half of my tuition. Win Win for me.

Pretty much, yea. We just make the plastic, we don't do any of the printing. Although the companies will send us samples so our Quality Control guys can check it all out. I have an uncut sheet of 133 Capital One Platinum cards. Pretty sweet, I use it for a table cloth when we have parties.

Wow, thats good wages though, for a warehouse. At least it would be in this area. My salary top out is at like 12 somthing an hour, so I wont be making much more if I stay in the warehouse.

Salary is both good and bad. I used to work for a fertilizer company (my last job) and in the spring and early summer, we would work 12-16 hour days 7 days a week. Nice for me, a shitload of overtime. Poor salary guys though, no OT. However, with salary, you always know what you'll have to spend, so you can plan a bit better. But give me hourly any day. Plus, I just got a one cent per hour raise last week, (cost of living compensation) and a three cent per hour raise this week.

No overtime is about the only reason I don't like salary. I get paid for 40 hours but typically work 45-55 hours. Not that I don't make decent pay, but I would be pulling a lot more cash down if I were given overtime like our shop guys are. Oh well.

We have a set amount of paid holidays that we get time off for. I also get like 4 paid sick days.
