Wow!! Lot of response! Looks like Rock wins! Closest I ever get to rap is POD. (And a little Faith No More) My favorites of Modern times include...Of course.."The Mighty Met!", Godsmack, Creed, Audioslave, Disturbed. Rush is ALWAYS to be found. And a band I just discovered...Uncle Jack. Can't seem to stomach even looking at that little fucker M&M. Or EnemaM, or EmmaM, or Auntie M...whatever.....But..on the flip side, I kinda like Kid Rock! Go figure. Enjoy whatever you like... Rock on...and on, and on and on and on and on.............................Werd from Master R&BC!

I listen to both evenly. but I don't listen to the "new" rap. it's just beats with shitty random lyrics.

so I mostly listen to the stuff of the 90's. OF course hearing Kenny Roger's "chillin' on the country side" with Wyclef always cracks me up and is good to listen to.

[rant]Rock.. I hate rap with a fire grilled passion.. I mean, I'd rather listen to a rock band, with the scream of the electric guitars, and the sun drenched vocals of say Axl Rose <<<IDOL ALERT>>> rather than some loser, using a computer to simulate instruments that don't exist, repeating the same 1/2 time measure over and over for like 5 minutes.. I mean, Listening to songs like Paradise City, or Wild Side, just makes sense, because they sound fun.. No, you get these fuckin MORONS that think its the "Shizznit" to listen to some pathetic moron that just excessively rhymes about his sneakers, or how many inches his "Reemz" are he's "Bouncin" on.. FUCK!! I think rock music should be banned! But unfortunately, with the declination of the INTELLIGENT demographic of the United States, hearin about Pimps n Hos, My new kicks, or about how BAD my life is because no one will give me a chance to succeed.. Of course, the last statement about success is complete bull shit because there has been EVERY opportunity for people in this country to succeed.. What this country is BASED on is the freedom to succeed.. The problem is, no one wants to take initiative, and get the fuck OFF their lazy asses go DO something about their rampant failure.. So, instead, here is the typical scenario: Go on welfare-->Buy ANGRY rap music with your welfare check (And a $7000 home theatre system from the Maplewood Best Buy.. Cause everyone KNOWS you gots ta have beats)-->After listening to the angry rap, go rob a liquor store-->Get causght, and blame the working class that you are a lazy bum, and you don;t get paid enough to sit around on your failing ass-->Be overjoyed that the charges were dropped-->Win media attention, and get more welfare-->Next month, go back to best buy and get 5 angry rap CDs and a complete car system-->15 minutes after stereo install, go car jack someone's Escalade because some dip shit in clothes designed for Rosanne Arnold, and wearing glasses that look prescription but aren't bragged HE did it in a song on one of those waste of $.02 CDs..

See what rap music does? Its a very vicious cycle..

90% of the time, it's Rap. The other 9.9% of the time, Rock. The .1% is left for country, classical music, theme songs(spongebob, aladdin, etc...).

Latley I've been listining to a lot of country, but rock is still my standby. Chevelle is prolly my favorite band at the moment, matter of fact, thats whats on in the background right now. I'll listen to some rap occasionally, sometimes just as a joke. I'll pull up next to someone with their subs goin like mad, roll down the window in my shitty 89 F-150, and crank some rap on the blown factory speakers. Just for shits and giggles, whatever, it makes me laugh.

i like indie rock! lately i've been more into the country-ish rock, or "alt-country". bands like Uncle Tupelo, Wilco or Calexico. lately i've been really into Billy Bragg and Bob Dylan too.

my favorite band for the last year or so is definately Wilco. i've seen them live twice now. i cannot get enough of Wilco! i've also been really into The Shins (seen them live twice too). favorite band of all time would have to be Pavement though (and i seen them live two consecutive nights in '99 lol).

i hate rap. the closest i get is G. Love & Special Sauce (seen them live) and i like some Del Tha Funky Homosapien but that's about it. i like some punk like Less Than Jake (seen them live twice now) NOFX, Screeching Weasel and of course.....The Lillingtons.

i've been listening to the Pixies all week though.....Trompe Le Monde & Surfer Rosa albums kick fucking ass!!! i've seen Frank Black live twice now and i even seen The Breeders live but i missed the Pixies reunion tour

but i'm gonna see Modest Mouse in March.....you guessed it....for the 2nd time hahaha
