Definetly! Once we have it up and running, you will be able to submit articles (though pictures will have to be put in the gallery and then linked to from there I think). Im not quite sure how to break down the site articles yet, so I guess we will see what happens

I'm not going to comment on the whiny bickering between forums, but I would like to participate in the new site's construction or contribute as much as possible. I was a member of W-Body for over a year, and I managed to keep on everyone's good side as far as I know. I've also owned 3 of the cars, and I know that a CAI and Ram-air aren't the only way to make a car go faster.

Yeah, I was on there for close to a year as well and tended to stay away from stupid arguments. Although one time I told a newbie why I liked the 95-96 Regals better than the 88-94's and it rubbed Shawn (GnatGoSplat) the wrong way cause he hates the 95-96's and loves the 88-94's. It ended up blowing over and we agreed to disagree, and I kind of kept comments like that to myself afterwords.
Other than the "Whatever" section becoming mind-numbingly retarded, the main discussion areas were relatively free of bull$#!+ and gave me a good education in all of the quirks of the W-Body (and also a good place for me to share my follies.) We had built up a pretty good community of knowledgeable members, and as long as you knew who to ignore, you could come away with some good advice. I only hope we can build it back up to a respectable level (and hopefully keep out all of the rif-raff!)
As if I haven't babbled enough, I think I'm going to christen myself "Springfield Choppers" on the new board. I'm kinda sick of "DiscoStudd" and my name on this board is just plain stupid (it's what I call my "office" at work: "K.B. World Headquarters.")
Okay, that's enough from me...sigpic

The site got shut down unexpectedly due to bandwidth overuse. I guess I should have seen it coming, but I like to live in my own little world where I pretend everything is A-OK. I have moved onto new hosting with 3x the bandwidth, but unfortunately, forum backups are being held hostage by my previous host so the forum will have to be started over from scratch. This will have to wait till after DNS propagates so it'll be a day or two.

I used to keep weekly local backups for awhile, but it would take a long time to DL ~400MB, even with my T1 connection (not to mention I worried about the Networking Dept wondering what I was doing on my office machine). Eventually, I got complacent and kept them less frequently until I quit keeping them at all. A few months ago, I deleted my last database backup because it was over a year old. I should have kept backups, and I should have switched providers as soon as I started getting those emails. No one has to say it, I already know I'm a moron but there's no use crying over spilled milk!
After discussing our options with Luke and Brian (Turby is MIA, email-wise), we've decided to just start over. 95% of what was on the forum was just chit-chat and socializing anyway.Shawn

um yeah, this isn't a platform site so I don't see how merging would help. Actually, the only merge type setup I can ever see being valuable would be having l67swap, beretta.net, v6z24, quad4forum, this site, w-body.com, and all the other FWD sites to create a mega site. That would be sick...a true gmfwd.com setupBen
