  • I am an Idiot

I feel like a complete fucking moron. I was over at a buddy's house tonight with my 89 F-150 POS, and as I was leaving, the rear end slid out a little (we've had quite a bit of snow the last two days) and I nailed another friends 96 Monte. Only broke the headlight, crimped the corner of the hood and pushed the fender in a little, but I still feel like an asshole. Thats what I get for trying to get out in two wheel.

Yea, I told her I'd fix it, parts are easy enough to find around here. Sorry, no pics, as of yet anyway. I gotta work all weekend, so maybe Monday I can hit the boneyard and see what all I can find.

Just be glad you don't have to deal with insurance on this one. Next time try to tag an import or something:P

Yea, she was real cool about it. Good thing we know each other. Actually, the funny thing is, this is the second time her cars got hit at this house. The first time though, the guy about backed right over the top of her car with a new Ram. Really messed it up bad.

Well, had a friend come to work today and get some money so he could pick up the headlight:$105 from a goddamn junk yard. I couldn't have just backed into Cheek's Plymouth Acclaim, which is even worse off than my truck, I had to hit the expensive car instead. Just my luck.

                  Fender: $344.79
For a grand total, parts and labor, of $2495.69

Yea, when I bought my 88 Beretta GT, it needed a new bumper, fender and door. From the local junkyard: $215 total. Unfortunatly, none of my usual stops have any newer Montes, so Im gonna have to look farther down south.

                    dude go over to mymonte.com

i'm sure that someone over there has a car that they are parting out or has extra parts layin around that they would sell for less than that.

Thats what I'm gonna do. There's a fender on ebay for like $24, and its only in Decatur Il, so I should be able to just go down and get it myself, instead of paying the $35 for shipping. And the hood could actually probably be fixed, so that wont be too bad.

Just call up any GM dealer and they can hook you up with that .. If you have the VIN .. even better .. There should be a sticker on the car (I think in the trunk) that should tell you the paint code.
