who would win this race

who would win a drag between my 94 retta 2.2 5 speed
and my girls 90 grand prix 3.1 auto

Depends on the stakes. How is she going to pay off if she loses? Some things are worth an act of sabotage.

Probabally the Baretta. Alot lighter and less power loss throught the 5 speed.

The 3.1L has more torque but I think HP levels are almost equal are they not?

I think it could be a toss up. I havent seen a 2.2 5spd do better then 16.9-17.2 STOCK. I also havent seen 3.1 auto Wbodys do better then low 17's as well. However it will be a lot easier for her to get the best time and will take you being absolutely on the ball to get high 16's to beat her. So the Beretta gets the slight edge if driven right.

IN 90' The Beretta had 135hp with the 3.1, 140 in 91. Is it the same in the W-body, I always forget.

I remember this discussion from the past. What did they change in 91 from 90 for there to be a 5 hp difference? I don't think there was a 135 hp 3.1.

Yeah there was, look at 90 Indys and any other 3.1 L-body, 135hp and 180lbs of tq.

i think that might have been a tuning issue
i konw they retuned to lower the rpm at which the torque peaks in like 92 or 93
