A 2000 mile trip is perfect for that, STAND ON THE LOUD PEDAL, it does the engine good.

Case in point I recently boughtmy '98 'Bu 3100 equipped, the guy I bought it from babied teh thing all the time, it had very little power, so what did I do? Stood on the gas and brought the RPM way up to clean it out, now it runs smoother and has more power. Maybe take it a little easy for the first 60 to 80 miles, then when you're on teh highway, open it up for a bit, it will clean it out and will run smoother in the end.

I had one in my old 87 6000.. 294,000km on it when I sold the car.. I had pulled the motor and opened it up at 236,000 cause the cam gear stripped.. I simply resealed it and put it back together and she ran like a top... I think it'd be fun to build one of thoughs motors up..

actualy, the duke is a good motor. if they make it 100,000km, they will make it 1 million km. i had a car in our shop with 800,000km on it, 3rd tranny was blown up, but still the original iron duke.

btw, there have been dukes with twin turbos on them, ive seen pics. they arent a bad motor, and with proper design on aftermarket parts, they can make a ton of power.
