Thanks!
And yes they've made good use of it already, though this summer wasn't the warmest here.
My job's ok, though my wife makes as much as I do. Sad part is she's part time and I'm full time!! That's what you get when you're married to a government employee.
Honestly, we saved up quite a bit when I was working at a factory a few years ago and was making really good coin. Once I was laid off we didn't spend much, and got by on what we could until I got a more secure job. But after this year all the savings are gone, but it'll be worth it in the end.
Now I've gotta build a deck in the spring if cash permits.
Actually, I designed most of it myself. I based if off a house we sort of liked, but then redid pretty much everything my way. Gave the plans to the builder, got a quote, found a lot, and 3 months later we got our new house.
Funny thing is, now the builder is building this design in other subdivisions, and we've had a couple people come to the door and ask if they can see the house because they might want to build the same thing.
That could be where all my money may soon be going... Just got back from California last night for a job interview. I really don't have any urge to move to California, but the company is great, the benefits are amazing and it looks to be a great opportunity. But OMG, housing prices are ridiculous!! I have yet to find a normal "house" for under $300k. Hell, its even hard to find mobile homes for under $150k. But we'll see I guess....
Id take the house over car upgrades any day! Thats awesome...and ill be making use of your pool next year too:P hahaha, looks good though, and its kinda neat that the builder is using your design.
