  • Glass bead blasted my heads.

Well I glass bead blasted my heads to clean them, I washed them in solvent, soap and water, and went to put them together today. I had a buddy install the valves and springs. I walked back in an turned the head and there were all kinds of little sand like particles in the head. They were not there before. I think I am going to have to tear that head back appart and wash it again. Any suggestions?

    heads are 3100.

id tear it down and re clean it , actually go buy some brake cleaner and spray them with that, that stuff is amazing i used it to clean my heads when i rebuilt them. just make sure you get the sand out because a little time is not worth an engine.and just dump alot of oil in the heads before putting the valve covers back on.

im pretty sure you can still you brake cleaner, if you can afford it go to the dealership and get ac delco brake cleaner, it is the best, it evaporates so quickly, trust me brake cleaner is safe, we even used it to clean leather seats at the dealership. just when your done spraying it take a blow gun with compressed air and blow it out.
