  • Another Concert

As many of you know, I went to see Rush this summer. Awesome concert. Anyway, got a chance to see another legendary band last night... Van Halen. It was an absolutely awesome concert. It just amazes me how these guys can keep doing this night after night at their age. Alex had a drum solo (not as good as Neil Peart, but pretty damn good!) and I swear it looked like he needed to be put on oxygen when he got down. eddie was awesome as always, and Sammy sounded great. This was the second time for me to see Van Halen, both times with Sammy Hagar.

Here are some VERY crappy pictures I took with my phone...

I thought Sammy got dropped from Van Halen, that's why him and David Lee Roth went on tour together.

That was awhile back. Van Halen switches singer every tour I think. And actually, the Sammy / David tour ended early because of disagreements between the two.

My buddy went to that concert a couple weeks ago here in Edmonton. He thought the drum solo was absolutly phenominal. He said it was a blur of drum sticks, just wicked.

Van Halen was leaving Kansas on their way to Canada. You guys might want to check it out if they are coming to a town near you...

How about the bass solo Michael Anthony produces. When I saw that I thought Fuck! That over shadowed the best self taught guitarist out there(Eddie). At least it was the last time I saw them with Sammy.

I went and saw bad religion, with rise against opening up for them in chicago. Fucking awesome is all I can say! It was the bands 23rd birthday on the day I saw them, and they did a 4 song encore. They never do encores! I don't know any punk bands still actively recording and touring as long as they have been, and the energy is still all there.
