  • Do you know when the 3.4L HT came out?

Im gonna add this engine to the family tree. I also did some more updates, including the 05's (2.8L VVT and such) and pics of various engines

So when did the HT3.4L come out? I am thinking 1999 but looking for verification.

Are you referring to the 3.4 crate engine? I understand this engine is really just the surplus inventory of 3.4 engines left over when the Camaro switched to the 3800 in mid-'95 or so. The cam specs don't seem to match the Camaro's, so maybe they switched the cams. Maybe Brad's GM Powertrain source can fill us in on the exact details of the engine's history.

We'll see... make sure you add the Equinox specific 3400 to the list. I have the info on the main page.

No the HT 3.4L was specifically designed the way it is. it is not a Camaro engine. Different cam, springs, and retainers. Also came with a vee belt front cover designed for swaps into old S-10's. Oh and an S-10 oil pan.

New Equinox stuff is already on there. Along with the 3100 and 3500 improvements and pics

        Should I add 3900 aswell?

So any clues on the HT 3.4L's release date?

Marty is right. it is left over 3.4L Fbody blocks. This is why there is differences in the KS location, the Reason it doesnt have the provisions for "Zbar" linkage style Manual clutch linkage pivot points, and a few other items that are different.
however Yes you are right as well, they stuff them with the Specific Crane Cam and the GMPP springs for the power package that they offer....

Oh yea ok I agree the BLOCKS are the same. Of course that is true. But the engine is not from a Camaro. It is built specific for the S-10

But anyway go check out the new TREE
