  • Fiero swap/selling the Z34

As many of you have found out, I will be selling off the Z34s and movign over to a Feiro 3.4 DOHC platform. I am looking at a few 88 Fiero GT fastbacks right now, and should have one bought by summertime. As for my Luminas, I have a few options. I'd like your opinions on it.

There is a white/red Z34 5-speed around here for sale, its like 2500 but not worth more than 2. The seller knows it, its been for sale for like 3 months. Its in shitty cond, but runs great. As we all know, my red car has a salvaged title, but is in perfect cond inside and out. Better than my white car, which is pretty clean.

The thing is, it will end up that 1 5-speed Z34 will end up being junked out and parted out, and depending on the route I go, my white car will be sold, the red car will be sold or parted out. All I need is a 3.4L/5-speed long block, and the full wiring harness/computer. So if you all can think of any deals you want to offer, or trades, they will be considered. Also, headers we be sold too, but at a price

would you be willing to part with the entire red car? and if so what would you want for it?

You should sell me the engine harness, you don't need it! What condition is the hood in?

Yes, but I get the motor and the wiring harness/computer. Motor is frozen, you probly don't want it anyway. I would want at least $1,000, then you arrange picking it up or shipping it. It would also come with the 284 transaxle.

As for the hood if I do part it, the hood is perfect cond. Original paint, never hit, and no scratches worth mentioning. Has rock chips of course, but very minimal and you have to really look to see them.

I'm gonna wait a bit before I decide what to with it, probly until X-mas. By then I am back in CO and can really think about what exactly I want to do. What i really would rather do is take the red cars good tranny and put it in my white car, and then sell the white cars semi-bad tranny seperate.

i was interested in maybe the trans until i saw CO.

hmm if u don't sell the engine, would you consider selling me the 5 spd pistons? as long as nothing is wrong with them of course.

The motor is frozen, but there is probly nothing wrong with the pistons. As for the motor, I will most likely be using it, but I sure as hell won't be reuising the pistons, and I honestly suggest you don't either.

Why? What could Happen? sry, not an expert on engine internals. Humor me.

Do you have any idea why the engine is frozen?

Yah in Colorado the temps get below -10 and sometimes hits nearly -20. Below these temps, if you are using normal engine lube, it will just freeze. Instantly. So I turned the car on, and it ran frozen oil through the internals and got in the bearing galleys. This caused the motor to not turn at all. So now its done.

Nah I'm j/k with ya. Something on the inside went wrong. He might have overheated it BADLY(not common on the 3.4), he might have run it out of oil, it could have dropped a rod, or a few other things. I don't think it was run out of oil, but I have yet to check. My dad said it was topped off with oil, and it was clean too. So i really don't know, come X-mas time I will be pulling it and thoroughly going through it to find out.
