Or they might have, had they not worn their seatbelt. So if no on the poll, what are some of the situations where you might not?

Only on the highway, or when I know I'll be over like 55 for a decent amount of time. I dont know why I picked 55, but Ive been like that for about 5 years, since I got my licensce. I think I got it from my dad

I always wear my seatbelt. Saved me and my wife in a rollover in Kansas. Besides, they, (The Law), can pull you over if you aren't wearing one. And, if you are in my car, you will wear one too!

          Seatbelts

I usually wear mine. I have been pulled over in my town for not wearing one a couple of times, but I am friends with 80% of the cops in my town/s.

For me it isn't a trying to be cool thing, it's a I am a forgetful dumbass thing....

Until very recently, that was an absolute "yes, always". But my job here on campus has me driving a beat up piece of shit truck in which the seatbelts don't really function well anyway, so there's not much point.

Yet cars are more dangerous than Airplanes.

I wear mine most of the time in city, on the Highway, interstates I buckle up 100% of the time.

However death in motor vehicle will happen with or without them, just less often with them. Indeed there ane tons of ways for a person to die this is just one small aspect of life.

yeah more people die in cars than airplanes
i think mainly because you actually have to prove competancy and receive extensive training to be a pilot
they will give any asshole a driver liscence that wants one just about

Death is there. In 1964. my brother had a Beautiful 63 1/2 Falcon. Red Ragtop. Drunk pulled out in front of him. He had his belt on. (This was before shoulder belts.) No one else in the car did. He was bent over through the steering wheel and died on impact. All the rest are still alive. But I still wear mine. I like the odds. BTW...I take after him. Fast cars and T shirts! This sounds corny, but I think he has been takin' care of me. I have had some horrendous wrecks.

I where it more these days than I used to. Dont want no ticket. Not because it costs $50 but because I dont want to suffer the wrath of auto insurance

I always wear mine for a few reasons.

                          1) It takes about 2 seconds to put it on. Half the time I don't even think about it when I get into a car.

                          2) I try to set a good example for my kids.

                          3) I feel that it is my responsibility to be safe. I would hate to have my kids grow up without a father because to stupid and in a hurry to put my seat belt on.

If you are riding with me, I couldn't care less if you wear it or don't. It's your life to do with as you please. You will be paying for the ticket if I get pulled over and you don't have it on though! :P

I pretty much always wear mine out of force of habbit. Plus, my grandfather was killed in a accident on 12/24/99 and wasnt wearing his. I tell ya, that was a hell of a way to spend Christmas, burying your grandpa.
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
