    God Damned Door Handle's

    As I'm sure everyone must have replaced these retarded handles at least once I'm sure you all must have some opinions......

    300.00 cdn from G.M. 275.00 from Standard auto glass and Napa can't find the part # in their books. I bought an aftermarket one from a wreckers 1-1/2 years ago for 175.00 but no one in the city I now live in can't seem to source these. Does anyone know the aftermarket supplier so I can tell Napa? My passenger side is busted and my drivers is about to go.

    I'm looking into the drivers side one this afternoon in a hopeful effort to save it as I do not want to spend 600.00 on god damned door handles!!
    Anyone have any tips on how to save this piss poor design of a handle from breaking every two years?????

    I know this seems like alot of trouble, but my friend had a local shop install keyless door entries for about 375 bucks. The kit was from the people that make viper security systems, I think.....

      Go to a GM parts online. do a search and you'll find them the door handle are $130.00 american.. just do a snooping and you'll find them..

        Door Handles

        I have a passenger side from a Z34 and also both sides from a GP. Make me an offer. It won't take $600 (even Canadian :P )

          They have those things called salvage yards up there? I got a handle for my Chevy truck for $10.00. New was $45. Course it took me 4 hours to extract it too. Just a thought.

            The Chevy truck is much different than the W Body handle. Here is how to make it last. Vaseline! If it works good, take it out and coat all internal parts with vaseline. Also keep it well adjusted so that it opens at a touch, rather than pulling to the limit. My car is a 94, and I can open either door with my pinky. Also, during cold weather, coat all your door rubber with Silicone spray. Keeps it from freezing shut. This is when most of the retarded handles break.
            If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.

              What I meant was check the junk yards. Might find a deal there.

                First, you should not be puting any force on the Handle when opening the door. Swing open the door by the door itself.

                Second is there a problem w/ the $20-$24 ones on E-bay...
