My father in law just left to get back and batten everthing down again. He claims everthing around Ft Myers is already junked. My grand parents live in Ft. Myers. Stubborn old asses never leave when a hurricane comes through. They survived the last one, and I just hope they do the same with the new storms coming in...-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Hurricane Charley ripped this place up just a few weeks ago and now Im bracing for Francis. I went 6 days without power with charley. Our Power company said all bets were off as the current grid is simply a band aid system due to servere damage from Charley. The Eye came through Kissimmee with Charley from the Gulf side, now the latest Francis track puts the hurricane path at vero beach on the atlantic side and once again the eye is going for me in kissimmee.
The real problem is Francis is going to give us sustained hurricane winds for over 24 hours because how big she is. Charley only gave us 2 hours worth of winds. Flooding is what Im scared of. We can get 12"- 20" of rain in 24 hours.
I am much better prepared with supplies this time. I was out walking the streets for gas after charley for two days. I got the tank as full as she'll fill and I got mad candles, batteries, water, a grill and charcol, and lots of ice and a cooler.
Wish me good , I need it!!!
