  • Why is it that...

Ok, here is a thread for people to post their favorite "Why is it that..." questions. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, I'll give you an example.

Decided to go to Subway tonight for dinner. When the lady asked what vegetables I wanted, I said everything. Why is it then, that she had to ask me 3 times if I wanted certain vegetables? This usually happens every time with the jalapenos. Even then, if I say everything, I mean everything. But this girl asked me if I wanted onions, green peppers and jalapenos. Are those not considered in the everything clause or something?!?!

Ok, now its everyone else's turn....

Actually it is training. Look who served you. I'm just happy that I get to eat, and that they wear gloves. My worst is, standing in line at my favorite grocery store, the 12 or less line, and some old woman is in front, with 45 or 450 items, and hasn't bothered to prefill her check. THEN!!! She has like 4 bars of some wierd soap, that needs a price check! You look around... and no one moves to get a new line started. So... there you stand... Beer getting warm., You are pissed....(and you have to), You know your favorite team has made a stellar play!, (at home). The little RugRat behind you keeps your ankles occupied with a cart, (Mom is way too cute). She gives you that smug.."Have a Nice Fucking Day, my boyfriend has a bunch of tattoos look". You FINALLY get to the checker, (Way too young, but friendly). Get to the car...reach for keys..........Ooops. Urban myth? or real? GUESS!

When I lived in San Diego, the checkers would ask you to leave the express line if you had too many items. That and the weather are just about the only good things about southern Cali.

Why is it that the community college system doesn't mesh very well with the state universities? My education is taking way too long.

Also, more related to Brad's rant...
Why is it that when I go to Quiznos and order a sierra smoked turkey sandwich (supposed to have turkey, onions, and a certain sauce, all on ciabatta bread) they ask me "white or wheat", or else put it on rosemary parmesan bread, then try to put swiss cheese on it? It's sad when I know the sandwiches better than the employees.

Arre. Why is it that people merge onto the interstate so slow so I have to pass them, and then they pass me cause they drive so far over the speed limit? Why can't the fuqers just step on the gas from the beginning? I drive a saturn sl1 - single cam engine with a beast of 114 horse power and I can get to 70 by the end of my onramps. The other people shouldn't have to do much more than try.

Why is it......that a major corporation will fire 20% of their white collar workforce and less than 4 weeks later post 2 of the very jobs they just cut??

                        Why is it that...

When a customer see's their car on a rack they think that gives them the right to wander into the bay while people are working.

That customers beleive that parking over the "No Parking" paint directly in front of the bays reserves them a spot ahead of every costomer that has already filled out a ticket.

That every time I go out for a drive at least 3 different old women pull out in front of me in traffic...regardless of the lane I am in.

That 99% of the time above said old woman is driving either a Lincoln or a Buick.

That every time I use the self checkouts at a store the person ahead of me never has or has a child that constantly leans on the scales.

that when I order a Double Cheeseburger Value meal King sized w/ a sprite there is a 50/50 chance I'm getting a coke.

That said meal above costs 0.10 less 4 blocks away from the BK closest to my house.

That Wal-Mart or K-Mart don't carry enough Peppermint candycanes to last the whole of the Holiday season. (I was told one year that they weren't going to get a shipment until next chistmas, this was 2 weeks before that years)

Why is it that above said stores don't put price tags on anything, and are glad to pay the $150K+ fine for it every year.

I'm sure I could go on and on...

One day I think I'm just gonna grab the coke a long bomb it over the counter and watch the cup burst open and cover everything and everybody is stickey coke
