  • JB Weld! Whatta yah think?

Has anyone in the history of mankind ever had lasting success with this stuff?

I've used it so many times for fixing broken plastic appliances to car related items and it has never worked. Either it cracks when you tighten things down or it cracks as soon as it flexes. It does do a good job at sticking to the pieces you slapped it on too. Just not so much connecting the piece you're trying to put together. Stuff to me seems like re-marketed auto body filler.

What are your experiences with the stuff? Any successes?

I've heard success stories of using it to repair cracked oil pans on lowered cars lol. The repair doesn't last forever but usually until the oil pan is bottomed out again haha.

Also my friend used it to re-seal his gas tank in his car after drilling into it by accident to mount an amp.

i've used it for light-duty stuff before without any issue. but it isn't any kind of miracle that it is marketed as.

Used it on a leaky water pump housing on a Dodge van and it held for another 50k miles. I did clean the housing with brake clean before hand.

I've used it successfully in every application that I have thought it would last in. There were a few applications that was done as a last ditch effort, that I was pretty sure it wouldn't hold with.

The secret is surface prep, if the mating surfaces are not prepped correctly, nothing is going to work well.

I hear yah on that surface prep.

I guess I should slap my own self in the mouth for talking bad about this stuff. I have successfully got it to actually hold a piece of my intake that broke off. It still cracked a lil bit in one area but the rest of the goop held it in place. Even torqued it down... can you believe that?
