    The autos are much easier to get strength out of I think. But the ultimate auto transaxle is that th-425? IIRC that came in eldorados. Advantage of a longitudinal drivetrain and it's a trans that actually has gone 9s.

      that's just a turbo 400 with a chain on the output shaft, damn tough though. I don't think we have seen the F23's limit yet.

        At the time, there were transaxles breaking at about 350 HP/similar torque, but most clutches that would fit wouldn't hold up to anything near that, and didn't want to go to an unsprung clutch.

          ones up for sale somewhat locally right now

          32 inches of S 10 front frame grafted to 2x3 tubing inside rocker to competition engineering adjustable ladder bar with coil overs and a GM 10 bolt

            wow, looks like a pretty good conversion, never expected it to look that good using the truck frame, but didn't think of cutting it up either. I'd want a 5 speed, and not a heavy smallblock, but I bet it'd be a fun car.
