    I've given this topic more thought then most... probably too much. I'm starting to think I'd use an IRS setup off of an import car like a 240sx or something, might leave the front suspension stock, don't know how well it performs.

      There's a guy who did a RWD beretta and used a 240sx rear subframe. Apparently wasn't that difficult to set up the mounts. Using a subframe like that is nice because there are only 4 mount locations to worry about.

      Another good thing about a j-body is that the steering rack mounts high enough that it should clear a RWD trans without changing anything.

        project slideways? I've seen it, not in person mind you, but it's a cool build.

          Local guy did a rwd conversion to a 97ish monte carlo. Was no slouch, but probably could have been a bit faster using a ls1 rather than a 383.
          Lifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.

            There were a lot of cool cars in the 80's. I mean a lot of those turbo compact/performance type of cars that were still affordable. Now a days if you want a similar car it cost just as much as a real sports car. No more fun little compact sporty car anymore. Anyway I'm not going to lie and just say my favorite cars from that era. 1. Dodge PPG Turbo Interceptor 2. Ferrari Testarosa 2.Lamborghini Countach ( I know I have 2 numbers twos.. can you blame me?) 3. Probably any Porsche that wasn't a convertible.

            I always laugh thinking if I was ever a rich I'd have a garage full of old 80's cars.
