yesterday when driving down the main road to the local movie store, 2 white older grandprixs started swearing at me, my exhaust is really loud, it is just straight pipe until i get my muffs on(sitting in garage), "you thinnk you hard flooring it" and other coments, tha car did not exceed 3,000. my motor is stil in the break in process. i can't figuire out what the guys pproblem was, is he just on of those people who thinks his car is the best or did he think i was shoing off either way it made me think of the l67 battle, any one have any ideas on this?

write them off as assholes. i was at dunkin donuts in the corvette pickin up a coffee last week, there were a few ricers hanging out in the parking lot. in comes a neon, flying around the lot to park by them and almost nailed an old lady in a caddy. when i was pulling out i tossed them a few revs(cat, resonator, no mufflers = pretty darn loud). they started yelling at us like the bunch of morons they were, stuff about how v8's sound like shit and their neon could take it.

Thats some funny stuff. The day a neon takes a corvette will be a sad day in the history of cars..... and i'm not talking about a neon you've dropped 20k into to get it there, why you'd want to do that I dunno. I could find alotbetter car to work with with the amount of money they've spent on that Neon.... like my Z34

That reminds me of this muscled-up Dodge Charger I seen once. It had this HUGH decal on the back window. The decal said, "For all you guys drivin' neons and civics.....YOU GO GIRL!" Fucking Priceless!!!

I wana see a neon put on twin turbos and do 0 to 60 in less than a second while still being streetable. I wana see a neon with so much torque that it climbs up its ring gear to take the front tires 2 feet off the ground (this is a rwd only kinda thing I guess). I wana see a neon do the quarter in under 5 seconds @ 300+ miles an hour.

Pushrod V8's still pump out more of the worlds horsepower than any other motor. Dont anyone forget that!

Neon could do it backwards! Rear end wheelie!! Anyone ever see "The Lil' Red Wagon" from the 70s? (Not the Dodge), Ford Econoline pickup. Drag raced backwards! Did wheel stands. Everything on the truck was mounted in reverse. BTW, a V8 does not produce more HP than any other motor, NASA does!

But somehow I think they fall into a different Catagory.

And when I say they make the most horsepower I meant as a collective. Think of how many exist and think of how many Nascar motors there are making 800+ HP, How many weekend warrior drag racers ar there making 1000+HP, Think of the Pro Mod, Top Alcohol, and the killer TOP FUEL drag racers. Oh and what about drag boats, off shore boats, monster trucks, Hmm what else Uses a pushrod V8? Gee its hard to make that list

I love my V6, but I've seen a new 2004 SRT neon with upwords of 400HP still somg leagle, for california. it was on a dyno so i dont know what it would do in the guarter mile. but i was tacking to the guy and he said that is was about 9500 for everything he had put into it. but it still was a fast POS!
