man I get so aggravated calling yards for parts. I live in Southern Illinois and have access to at least 10 yards within an hours drive. ALL of these yards have w bodies but none are willing to bust an LQ 1 for individual parts. They will only sell the whole motor complete. most 100,000+. Does anyone else face this when finding used parts?

I got a couple of you pull its around here. They are pretty high too. When I call around tho they all say you can go thru the core pile and get what you want but stay away from the intact engines. Same way with stuff like steering colunms. I think the way some of them are pricing is they call Autozone or Napa then charge about 75% of the "new" price.2004 Grand Am GT 3400 ... yea, the wreckers i go to wanted $100 for a used ecm. i told them i could get a reman-ed ecm for $95 and their price dropped to $50. funny how it works. i also bring cash, cause if you pay cash, a lot of the time they dont charge taxes, it goes straight into their pocket, and i get a great deal. i personaly like playing the guessing games, if they guess exactly what car i got the part from, i pay for it and it has worked a few times (me getting it free).

I ve gotten to where I check that one site" carparts " for prices before I start calling for used parts. Kinda gives a look ahead of how bad I m going to get raped. I mean even on that site the price differences can be staggering.2004 Grand Am GT 3400 ... I had the right to remain silent, I just didn't have the ability.(Ron White)
