  • Been ages. Not sure who is still here on the fourm

Hey, Thought I'd drop in and say hello. I know Ben is still here, Is that Brad guy still around too?

Pictures for Brad if he's here of my shitbox DSM that sucked the life out of me and got me out of the 660 game all together:

This is my greatest creation right there. I think in the pic he was 10-11 months old. He's now almost 15 months old now.

Car has run a best of 10.54 @ 129mph on street radials. Its AWD, I converted it over from 5spd manual trans to auto trans drivetrain modified to manumatic with a hurst ratchet shifter. The car as it sits is a fucking riot to drive around on the street. It's pretty fucking retarded. Goal for this year is just to cruise it around, Don't think I'm going to race it. The 10.54 run was its first maiden voyage to the track and the car was not dialed in. Should run a 9 If I ever get my ass back to the track and work on getting it sorted out at that boost level's, but just don't have the funds to go racing much anymore with the boy.

Some vids of the bitch on my youtube channel:
Share your videos with friends, family, and the world

Hope everyone is doing well. What's new in the 660 world? What sort of records are being set now-adays. Hows everyone doing?

    Cheers.

Hey Colin, Good to see you're still around and doing well.

There are a few of us old J-body guys still around although we're slowly switching to RWD platforms to break new records.

In the 2nd gen Jbody world nobody has beat the 13.07@108 N/A time that i set in '09, boosted J guys are in the mid 11's or so. Fbody wise, Marsman is almost in the 10's with his boosted 3500/TH350 '88 Camaro. I'll be in the mid to high 12's N/A this year after dealing with my tranny issues.

Lots of other guys taking these engines very far and putting them in quite a few different cars these days. from MG's to Vega's..

Here is some 60v6 N/A eye candy for you: http://www.sdsgarage.com/Misc/Camaro...e/SDC11053.JPG

Hey Colin! Yeah, I'm still around. Probably will be for life... As Dave mentioned, many of us are switching to RWD platforms, me being one of the first. Unfortunately, like you, I have 2 little girls and a wife in school using up all of my money, so my project just sits in my garage with no love. Had it for over 2 years now, and still have yet to get the motor mounts done. I'd show you picks, but the site that I have everything on for some odd reason has exceeded its BW limit. :/ So I have to figure out what that's all about, considering its another site I run, but which has basically been down for the last couple of months.

Hey there he is! Fuck Foxbody swap project, cool. When I had the bird stripped down to the bare chassis at one point I thought about doing RWD conversion and making it into a drift machine or something even, Turbo RWD light small chassis, would have been fun. But, then I would have had two money pits and likely neither would have got finished. Some local kid picked up the shell and all the parts and pieces of the car about 2 years ago, He was planning on putting it back together. Not sure if he ever did.

Anyone know if Curtis ever finished his MG project? He started it probably back in 05 and last I talked to him (maybe 3-4 years ago?) he was still plugging away on it.
Any new cool parts going on now-adays. I think the last time I was on the forum was probably back in 06 or 07. Wife bought an 06 G6 GTP with a 3900 and 6spd manual in it. Drove it for the 4 years lease and then sold it for a loss as she put 137,000 km on it when the lease was for 80,000. sigh. We said screw the new car thing and bought a wrecked 02 GP SE with a 3100 auto 4door for 900$ and had one of the guys who works in the bodyshop at work fix it up for cheap.
I've hung onto one 3400 engine in the garage just incase the engine in the GP desides to take a shit. Took about 7 or 8 other 3x00 engines to the scrap yard for cash a few years ago when I cleaned out the garage. I think I still have the modified 3500 intake that I put onto the sunbirds engine still hanging around in the garage. I think that's the only thing left from that motor. Oh that and the polished valve covers.

Haven't heard much from Curtis lately, the guy that bought his old Z24 is building a new engine for it and stopped by my place for a trunkload of freebies recently.

There is starting to be more talk about the DOHC 3.6 and swapping it into other cars.. That'll be pretty cool if anyone completes it.

i just came back. i sold off all my 60v6 stuff including my turbo GP, never did make it to the track with it. i got married, have a baby, got into LSx's, and from there i blacked out. i don't remember much, but now i have a 95 imp SS with a 5.3 LS engine, a 91 sonoma that i'm hunting a cheap 4.8/5.3 for, and a whole bunch of other v8 powered stuff. and a boat.

FYI, i named my son Colin. not after you of course. named him for my favorite dead rally driver Colin McRae.

Bandwidth issue is temp fixed, as its the beginning of a new month. Sadly, its the stupid google-bot crawling the site that's using up all the bandwidth, so I need to remedy that.

The only issue with the 3.6L is the constant timing chain stretch issues we see. (I still work as a tech at GM)
