  • "How to Build a Supercar"

I have never seen a more fascinating and complete “Car Story” in my long life that covers the cradle to grave history of what really must be...”A Super Car”. I downloaded this BBC documentary on the McLaren MP412C vehicle recently and then struggled with how to convey the processes by which I made this happen and describe them here within the boundaries of the forum and site legal policies. Since I could not... I almost gave up on the idea of doing this post at all... until I found the complete program in four fifteen (15) minute segments available in high definition on Youtube.

I would argue with anyone that this is probably one of the best and most engaging documentaries ever made on any subject. I hope you'll enjoy being as pleasantly surprised and distracted as I was by the story of this truly amazing machine. Depending upon your bandwidth limitations, these sequential video segments are best viewed if downloaded first via something quite handy when associated with your browser like this:

With Ant.com, search the web has never been so simple. Ant.com gives you the possibility to bookmark all your favorite webpages and access them wherever you are.

    Please enjoy...

Wicked. Checked out the first episode I will watch the rest before work tomorrow. Looks like I will have to go out and buy this. I already have the Planet Earth series on Blu-Ray. BBC makes awesome shows.

Simply amazing. Their dedication to perfection is incredible. Although I'm sure they could have went on forever about all the details of the car and the process of building. But none the less its amazing to see a car like that come to life.

"Second place is the first place of losers" .....lol

Watched the first 10 minutes so far. Will watch later when I have the time. I always enjoyed a great documentary, recently in the US most documentaries are just recycled crap spit out by a small group of controlled media scientists.

It was an oversight on my part not to include a still image of this magical, mechanical thing. THIS is what our automotive dreams are made of:

Bob,,, glad you're getting into SuperCars!!! That shit is what I live for!! I've got all of next years tickets for Lime Rock Park,,, http://www.limerock.com/ My favorite place!!
Anyhoo,, I'm REALLY happy that McLaren is back into building Road Cars!!! The MP4-12C IS nice,,, however,,, I was hoping for something really special.... I am slightly disappointed but, not too much!!
Here is some links to the MP4-12C's FATHER!!! Meet the McLaren F1... The name of F1 was an inside joke with the McLaren boys aimed at Ferrari... At the time the Ferrari was at F40 or so... The McLaren guys said F40 and still trying to get it right,,, WE got it in 1!! These cars are 20 years old now... At the time they set just about every record possible and quite a few STILL stand!!!
The BEST news is that they are working on a new car to replace the F1 and it WILL be spectacular!! For one thing, they want the speed record back, which at the moment I believe is around 263 MPH...
Well, that's enough out of me....
            Enjoy!!!

This is amazing. Car thats this old still can do this:
Ride on board as the McLaren F1 is driven to its very limit. Reaching a maximum speed of 391km/h (243mph), the F1 proves it's still one of the world's fastes...
